Driver airlifted to hospital with major injuries after car crash in SLO County

A driver was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries after crashing their car in Creston on Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The driver crashed their white SUV into a tree off of La Panza Road between Highway 41 and Ryan Road at about 9:17 a.m., the CHP traffic log said.

A helicopter transported to the driver to Adventist Health Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo after they suffered major injuries in the crash, CHP spokesperson Officer Ryan Armstrong told The Tribune.

No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash.

A tow truck was on its way to the scene of the crash at 10:10 a.m., the CHP log said.
