Cal Fire was able to contain a fire at a home in Templeton early Tuesday evening, but not before flames heavily damaged the building.

According to a post from Cal Fire on X, Cal Fire received a report of a fire at around 6:02 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 100 block of Spanish Oak Lane in Templeton.

Though around 75% of the structure was involved in flames when Cal Fire arrived, the single occupant of the home was able to get out of the building safely.

By 7 p.m., the fire was fully extinguished and Cal Fire crews were overhauling the structure, according to the post.

Cal Fire public information office Ryan Grebe said the cause of the fire is unknown, with an investigation ongoing.

Grebe said the fire was extinguished with the combined efforts of Cal Fire and the San Luis Obispo County, Templeton, Atascadero and Paso Robles fire departments.
