More than 1,500 lose electricity in SLO County power outage

Update 5:10 p.m.:

Power was restored to most customers who had lost electricity on Wednesday afternoon.

The outage appeared to still be primarily effecting Cal Poly’s campus, where 100 customers were without power as of 5:10 p.m., PG&E said. Meanwhile, 13 customers near Santa Rosa Park had lost power, too.

Power should be restored by 7:15 p.m. for Cal Poly and 8 p.m. for those near Santa Rosa Park, PG&E said.

A power outage swept part of San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday afternoon, leaving more than 1,500 PG&E customers without electricity.

The power outage was reported at 3:28 p. m. and impacted 1,560 customers near Cal Poly and up the Cuesta Grade to Santa Margarita, PG&E said.

As of 4:55 p.m., PG&E was investigating the cause of the outage and working on repairs, the outage map website said.

PG&E did not offer an estimation for when power would be restored.
