Firestone Walker ranked among best beer companies in the nation — for this ‘exciting’ perk

Raise a glass! A San Luis Obispo County brewery has some of the best perks for beer lovers in the nation, according to USA Today.

Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles boasts one of the top 10 beer clubs in the United States in 2025, the publication said.

“Beer clubs can be a great way to try new and exciting brews from across the United States — and sometimes from around the world,” USA Today in a March 5 article. “Whether you’re a fan of hoppy IPAs, sour ales, or rich stouts, there’s a beer club for you, curating a selection of beverages and shipping them right to your door.

California-based beer companies dominated the list, nabbing five spots in the top 10.

Why is Firestone Walker among best beers clubs in US?

Firestone Walker’s Brewmaster’s Collection beer club earned sixth place on USA Today’s list of the top 10 beer clubs that “deliver brews to your door,” due to its curated collections, product discounts and on-site tastings and tours for members.

USA Today called Firestone Walker a “California beer stalwart” that gives its patrons access to its “most artisanal small-batch creations.”

“Allegiance to Firestone Walker extends far beyond receiving boxes of beer,” USA Today said.

Brothers-in law Adam Firestone and David Walker started Firestone Walker Brewing Company at a family vineyard in Los Olivos in 1996. Five years later, the founders moved their company to Paso Robles after acquiring SLO Brewing Co.’s former brewhouse.

Firestone now has a total of three California locations , in Paso Robles, Buellton and Venice.

For $399 per year, Firestone Walker members receive these beers and perks:

• Quarterly curated collections, including a four-pack of 16-ounce cans and several vintage barrel-aged beers.

• 15% discount on all purchases in-store and online, as well as dining at all California locations.

• Special VIP access to member-exclusive events.

• Complimentary tastings for members and up to three friends at every visit.

• Free brewery tours all year long for up to four guests, and half off Barrel Room tours.

It’s not the first time Firestone Walker has received national and international attention for its top-notch offerings.

RateBeer selected the Paso Robles brewery as one of best brewers in the world in 2019, and Paste magazine ranked Firestone Walker the best American breweries of the 2010s in 2019.

To narrow down its list of the best beer clubs in the nation, USA Today said it called on a panel of beer experts to nominate their favorites.

The publication then asked readers to vote for their top picks.

The beer clubs with the most reader votes landed on the top 10 list, USA Today said.
