Firestone Walker is one of world’s best breweries, beer site says. Here’s how it ranked
Firestone Walker Brewing Co. just racked up another honor.
RateBeer selected the Paso Robles brewery as one of its 2019 Best Brewers in the World, ranking Firestone Walker No. 10 out of 100 breweries.
“Performance for the year 2019 was highly weighted while four years of our catalog was also considered in our ranking,” the craft beer website said. “The winners here represent a small portion of the top 1% of brewers worldwide.”
“All of us in the RateBeer worldwide community are very pleased and grateful for the artisanal contributions of these leading breweries,” RateBeer said on its site. “Congratulations to all of our winners!”
Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro, Vermont, was ranked No. 1 on RateBeer’s list.
Two other California breweries were among the top 10. AleSmith Brewing Co. in San Diego was ranked No. 6, and Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola, near Santa Cruz, was ranked No. 9.
Firestone Walker has collected numerous accolades since it was founded in 1996. Paste magazine named it the best American brewery of the decade in November 2019.
