Looking for the perfect place to take your date on Valentine’s Day?

Several San Luis Obispo County restaurants, wineries and cafes are offering special menus and intimate venues for the most romantic holiday of the year.

Dining options range from multi-course tasting menus to dinners with live music and oceanfront views.

All of the restaurants listed take reservations, so book your table ahead of time in case spots fill up.

Where can I dine out for Valentine’s Day in SLO County?

These are some of the San Luis Obispo County restaurants offering special menus or entertainment around Valentine’s Day:

Barton Family Estate, 2174 Highway 46 West in Paso Robles, has a “soul mate dinner” planned at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. There will be a five-course meal served alongside cocktail and wine pairings. The dinner is $185 per person or $165 for wine club members. You can order tickets online.

Blue Moon Over Avila, 460 Front St. in Avila Beach, will serve a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu for $79 per person. Diners can choose from entrées including bacon-wrapped filet mignon, duck a l’orange and ratatouille. The restaurant recommends booking a table online ahead of time.

Cello Ristorante & Bar, 2770 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles, will have a four-course prix fixe dinner menu on Valentine’s Day for $95 per person. Diners can choose an appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert. Menu options include beef tartare, potato croquettes, ricotta herb gnocchi and flat iron steak. You can make reservations online.

Cass Winery, 7350 Linne Road in Paso Robles, is hosting two special Valentine’s Day events. From 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, the winery is inviting couples age 21 or older to dine to “indulge in a five-course menu paired alongside our award-winning wines.” Oysters, ahi tuna carpaccio, beef Wellington and Australian cold-water lobster are among the menu items listed online. The dinner is $150 per person or $130 for wine club members. You can make a reservation online.

The winery is also offering a more low-key Valentine’s Day dinner and comedy show for folks looking for a laugh. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, and feature live music and comedians Jim Gallagher, Richard Sarvate, Jon Dunn and Yoshee. You can enjoy dinner and a show for $110 per person or $90 for wine club members; comedy show-only admission costs $34. Grab a ticket at its website.

Eberle Winery, 3810 Highway 46 East in Paso Robles, welcomes executive chef Ryan Fancher from San Luis Obispo restaurant Ox + Anchor to create a special Valentine’s dinner. The winery is hosting the event at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Tickets are $250 per person or $200 each for wine club members. You can reserve a spot online.

Madeline’s Restaurant & Wine Cellar, 788 Main St. in Cambria, is serving a six-course prix fixe meal for those celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday, Feb. 14. The meal costs $90 per person and includes a glass of champagne. The menu is full of French fare, including caviar vol au vents, asparagus melange, pork belly Lyonnaise and a pear tart. Reservations must be made ahead of time by calling 805-927-4175.

Marisol at the Cliffs, 2757 Shell Beach Road in Pismo Beach, will host a five-course prix fixe dinner on Valentine’s Day with an “extravagant dessert buffet brimming with decadent treats and a chocolate fountain.” The restaurant also offers ocean views and a selection of local wines. The dinner is $120 per person and reservations can be made by calling 805-556-3316.

Ox + Anchor, 877 Palm St. in San Luis Obispo, and the SLO Film Center have partnered to offer an exclusive three-course prix fixe dinner paired with a food-related film at the historic Palm Theatre next door. Romantic drama “Like Water for Chocolate” will play on Feb. 13, 15 and 16. Diners can view the movie before or after eating grilled quail salad, oxtail ravioli and artisan chocolate truffles at Ox + Anchor. The dinner costs $78 per person and does not include a ticket to the film. You can book a table online.

Pequin Coastal Cocina, 147 Stimson Ave. in Pismo Beach, is offering a special Valentine’s Day dinner menu from Friday, Feb. 14, to Monday, Feb. 17. The menu features fennel-dusted diver scallops with citrus butter, grilled wagyu picanha steak and a maple-brined pork chop with pear compote. Prices vary depending on your order. You must make a reservation ahead of time online.

SeaVenture Restaurant, 100 Ocean View Ave. in Pismo Beach, is planning a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner prepared by executive chef Eddie Ruiz. For $75 per person, guests can choose a starter, an entrée and a dessert. Options include a persimmon endive salad fresh oysters, seared scallops, poached salmon, crispy pork chop and chocolate-covered strawberries. Call 805-773-3463 to make a reservation.

The Sow’s Ear Cafe, 2248 Main St. in Cambria, has a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner planned for Friday, Feb. 14. The restaurant is serving filet mignon and lobster tail, along with bread and a choice of soup or salad. You can make a reservation by calling 805-927-4865.

Looking for takeout food on Valentine’s Day?

The Monday Club Conservancy, 1815 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo, is offering a take-away dinner for two for $100 for those who don’t want to cook or go out on the romantic holiday. You get creamy lasagna, an appetizer, salad, bread and dessert, plus a chance to win a one-night stay in a cottage in Avila Beach. Order online to pick up your dinner between 4 and 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
