Is there a whirring sound overhead? Drones may be flying over your property in Pismo Beach as a part of PG&E power and telecommunication inspections.

Drones contracted by the utility company and Spectrum Communications are expected to conduct drone fly “over the coming days,” according to a Facebook post by the Pismo Beach Police Department.

“We are aware of the drones, and they are doing important work in the city,” the post said.

Police warned the drones may fly over private property while accessing power and telecommunication poles, but assured that they wouldn’t recording anything other than “the pole tops and the pole tags.”

Anyone with questions can call the department at its non-emergency phone number 805-773-2208.
