Man dead in Big Sur after vehicle he was fixing rolled down hill, CHP says

A man died Monday morning along the Big Sur coast when the vehicle he was fixing rolled down a hill.

According to a California Highway Patrol incident report, the incident occurred at the 38100 block of Palo Colorado Road, about nine miles south of Point Lobos State Natural Reserve and four miles off Highway 1. It was reported at 7:55 a.m.

A man was reportedly dragged 10 to 15 feet downhill into a creek as he was working on the vehicle, the incident report said.

The man’s wife had told her husband the vehicle was having issues starting prior to it rolling down the hill, the report said.
