Main Street is getting upgrades in this SLO County town. Where can drivers expect delays?

Road work

Drivers can expect traffic delays due to construction on a major Templeton road, according to the San Luis Obispo Public Department Works.

Crews are repainting lines and other street markings on Main Street, as well as upgrading signage along roads.

Here’s what to know:

When is SLO County road closure due to construction?

Construction will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1.

Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, the department said.

Where is roadwork in Templeton?

Crews will be working on Main Street at its intersections with Highway 101 northbound on and off-ramps and Ramada Drive, SLO Public Works said.

Highway 101 Exit 226 off will also be closed to traffic intermittently.

Flaggers will run traffic control on the Main Street overpass while the closure is in effect.

Why are upgrades being made?

The county Public Works Department said that improving traffic operations at the Main Street intersection had been a “top request” from the Templeton community.

“We heard you and are looking forward to improving operations through this small maintenance project!” the agency said.
