Nearly 3,000 PG&E customers lost electricity Thursday afternoon when a power outage swept across part of San Luis Obispo County.
The power outage started at about 3:40 p.m. and impacted 2,990 customers, PG&E said.
The outage struck downtown San Luis Obispo and areas along Highway 101, reaching Santa Margarita, according to the PG&E outage map.
PG&E was investigating the cause of the outage and making necessary repairs as of 4:40 p.m., the website said.
Power was expected to be restored by 9 p.m.
