Nearly 2,000 lose electricity in pair of SLO County power outages

Nearly 2,000 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo County lost power Tuesday morning in two separate locations.

According to PG&E’s Outage Center, at around 9:59 a.m. 1,721 customers lost power in Atascadero, with most of the outage falling on the western side of Highway 101 north of Highway 41.

Power was restored by 1 p.m.

The cause of the outage was unknown as of early Tuesday morning, though PG&E initially anticipated power coming back online around 5 p.m., according to the Outage Center.

Further south, 218 customers in the Lopez Lake area east of Arroyo Grande were without power since 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Outage Center.

PG&E had not determined the cause of the outage, but power was back on by midday as well, according to the Outage Center.
