Firefighters battle late-night vegetation fire on SLO hillside
Firefighters battled a late-night blaze along Prefumo Canyon Road outside of San Luis Obispo on Thursday night.
According to Cal Fire, the fire was reported in the area of 4300 Prefumo Canyon Road.
As of 11:50 p.m., the fire was 2 acres with a potential for 10 acres, burning in grass on the north side of the road.
By 12:05 a.m. Friday morning, forward progress on the fire had been stopped. Resources were expected to be at scene for several hours strengthening control lines and extinguishing hot spots, Cal Fire said.
