Lizzie Fire in SLO reaches 100% containment, 124 acres burned

Firefighters fully contained the Lizzie Fire in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday evening, according to Cal Fire.

The 124-acre blaze started mid-afternoon on Monday around the Future Farmers of America farm at San Luis Obispo High School and quickly spread up High School Hill through brown grass and eucalyptus groves.

The fire threatened homes in the Lizzie Street and Woodland Court neighborhoods and forced many to evacuate Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, the San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a 15-year-old on suspicion of arson after they were spotted on camera in the area where the fire began.

Firefighters were expected to continue patrolling the fire over the next couple days, according to Cal Fire.
