Wildfire near Highway 46 is 100% contained, Cal Fire says. How many acres burned?
A wildfire burning near Highway 46 in northern San Luis Obispo County was completely contained as of Tuesday morning, according to Cal Fire.
The Green Fire was first reported around noon Friday at the 6000 block of Highway 46, just east of Cambria.
Cal Fire said the fire grew to 243 acres and was active for three days before it reached 100% containment.
At the fire’s peak, 2,250 PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo County were without power. Many were advised by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services to be ready to evacuate.
That warning was lifted Friday evening and power was restored.
Although earlier reports stated the blaze was sparked by downed power lines, Cal Fire said Tuesday that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
