A rural Atascadero home was destroyed in a fire on Thursday, Cal Fire confirmed.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m on the 9500 block of Los Palos Road on the eastern edge of the city, according to PulsePoint. The location is about halfway between Atascadero and Santa Margarita.

According to emergency traffic, firefighters were reporting heavy smoke and flames from the single-family structure.

The fire was knocked down by 2:15 p.m., Cal Fire said, but by then the structure was a total loss. No injuries were reported, the agency said, but the home “sustained 100% damage.”
