Cal Poly students, faculty and staff in need of furniture have a chance to get some free items on Wednesday.

The university is getting rid of furniture from the Robert E. Kennedy Library in an event sponsored by Cal Poly Green Campus, JackRabbit and Facilities and Management Services.

The furniture will be available from noon to 4 p.m. at lot C-7, which is located off California Boulevard near the library.

The event is “in support of campus sustainability initiatives” Cal Poly marketing communications coordinator Adriana Sousa told The Tribune through email.

Sousa said some of the items that will be available include couches and seating, desk chairs, shelving, tables and decor.

“People will need to bring what they need to move the items,” Sousa said.

Cal Poly IDs are not required to access the event.
