It’s time to go to the movies — with a discount.

On Sunday, movie theaters around the country are celebrating the second annual National Cinema Day with $4 tickets and other deals.

In San Luis Obispo County, at least three movie theaters are charging just $4 on Sunday to see any movie in any format at any time: Atascadero Colony Cinemas, Regal Arroyo Grande and Downtown Centre Cinemas 7 in San Luis Obispo.

That discounted ticket will get you into any screening, from newer releases such as “Blue Beetle” and “Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story” and “Blue Beetle” to films that came out earlier this summer.

When else could you experience “Barbenheimer” — a “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” double feature —for just $8?

Regal Cinemas theaters are also offering a special $4 popcorn-and-soda combo in honor of National Cinema Day.

National Cinema Day is presented by the nonprofit Cinema Foundation to celebrate “the power of movies to bring us all together,” the group told USA Today.

In total, more than 3,000 theaters are expected to participate in National Cinema Day, including AMC, Regal and Cinemark locations.
