A truck crashed into a bridge on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday afternoon, halting traffic in the southbound lane.
At about 4 p.m., part of the box truck slammed into the railroad bridge near the Santa Rosa Street off-ramp — littering the highway with debris, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic log.
A tow truck was on its way to the scene of the crash.
As of about 5 p.m., traffic was backed up to the California Boulevard bridge.
