A man was found dead Monday morning after a recreational vehicle caught fire in Los Osos, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

Cal Fire firefighters and Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of an RV on fire in the 1900 block of Turri Road, the agency said in a news release Monday.

“When first responders arrived on scene, the RV was fully engulfed,” the Sheriff’s Office said in the release.

Once the flames were extinguished, they found the man’s body inside, the agency said.

The blaze apparently destroyed the Winnebago recreational vehicle, which was parked at a turnout east of South Bay Boulevard.

Coroner’s detectives are working to identify the man and notify his next of kin, the release said.

Next, the coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death, the Sheriff’s Office said.
