More than 1,700 PG&E customers without power in northern SLO County

More than 1,700 PG&E customers were without electricity Monday in an outage that knocked out power to the entire town of Santa Margarita and surrounding areas.

The outage affected 1,738 customers in the areas surrounding Pozo Road, as of 10:23 a.m., according to the PG&E PG&E outage map.

It extended into south Atascadero and east past Santa Margarita Lake.

The cause of the outage is still unknown, however PG&E was investigating the situation.

PG&E hoped to have power restored by 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Power was restored to the area at 11:24 a.m. on July 24, according to PG&E.

Those still experiencing a loss of power should reach out to the PG&E outage center.
