Wildfire threatens SLO County solar farm, Cal Fire says

A fire burned 25 acres in the Carrizo Plain on Wednesday afternoon, threatening a solar farm in the process.

Three Cal Fire air tankers and five fire engines responded to the fire near California Valley Solar Ranch, with more engines contributing Wednesday evening, the spokesperson said.

Cal Fire reported forward progress was stopped at 6:14 p.m.

As of Wednesday evening, Cal Fire had not received any reports of damaged infrastructure, the agency said.
