GoFundMe created for SLO County man who died after falling off cliff
A GoFundMe account was started for the family who lost 33-year-old Francisco “Javi” Garcia after he fell off a cliff at Pirate’s Cove on Thursday.
The fundraiser had 106 donations as of Monday, for a total of $9,515. The goal is $10,000.
“His family truly needs us to wrap our arms around them and bring support, financially, emotionally, and in faith,” the fundraiser reads.
“If you would please donate what you are able, any amount is so appreciated and most importantly please send all the love & prayers you can. We are so grateful for all of you.”
Lauren Pearsall has been a family friend of the Garcias for six years. Garcia’s wife Emily Villegas asked Pearsall if she could run the GoFundMe, to which she said “no problem.”
“It’s just such a huge loss because he was such a great dad and he was also so involved in our community,” Pearsall said.
Pearsall said there are a lot of expenses Villegas will have to cover.
Garcia is survived by four family members, including his wife.
