Cal Fire responds to Nipomo house fire

Cal Fire was responding to a residential structure fire in Nipomo on Tuesday evening.

The agency tweeted it was at the scene of the fire, located near the 300 block of Tefft Street, around 5:36 p.m.

The fire was contained as of 5:50 p.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.

The blaze appeared to have begun as a propane barbecue fire that extended up into the attic of the home, according to scanner traffic.

Tefft Street between Oakglen Avenue and Carillo Street was temporarily closed due to the fire Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident report page.
