1 person airlifted to hospital after rollover crash on Highway 166
One person suffered major injuries on Monday in a rollover crash east of Santa Maria.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County and Los Padres National Forest fire departments were dispatched to the single-vehicle incident on Highway 166 about 40 miles east of Highway 101.
At least one person was seriously injured, and a Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit helicopter was called to transport the patient to a hospital, according to California Highway Patrol emergency dispatch reports.
A second patient with minor injuries was transported to the hospital by American Medical Response ground ambulance.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were under investigation by CHP officers from the Santa Maria area.
Caltrans crews also responded to the scene to help with traffic control.
