More than 60 homeless individuals and families are headed back to stable housing due to efforts by the El Camino Homeless Shelter, the organization announced in a news release.

Since the start of the year, ECHO has used its 110 shelter beds between its Atascadero and Paso Robles locations to offer community outreach, individualized case management, housing plans, children’s programs and a 90-day residential shelter program.

“Being the first in the county to adopt the 90-Day Residential Shelter Program model has helped us to grow into the organization we are today,” ECHO executive director Wendy Lewis said in the release. “The stability that we are able to offer residents while on their journeys back into housing, our dedicated staff, caring volunteers, and the incredible support of the community have all led to the incredible success stories that we are seeing this year,” Lewis said.

To celebrate its successes, ECHO partnered with Brower Painting, which created new murals at each location, the release said.

The murals feature an ever-growing web of blue hand prints from successfully housed individuals and families who graduated from the 90-day residential shelter program, the release said.
