Paso Robles is doubling downtown parking fees. Here’s how much it will cost
New changes to the Paso Robles downtown parking program mean you’ll be paying more to park — but you’ll have a whole slew of new ways to pay.
According to a city news release, the Paso Robles City Council voted Tuesday to double the cost of parking downtown from $1 to $2 per hour, but it will continue to offer two free hours of parking per day.
Meanwhile, the city is launching a new parking app to replace the WaytoPark app that’s currently being used.
According to the release, WaytoPark users will be notified of how to transfer account information once the new app, Flowbird, is launched.
Downtown visitors can also pay for parking via a new Pay by Text feature, which doesn’t require an app, or by using any of the 34 existing pay stations in the area.
The city said all downtown parking signs will be updated with the new information, and new how-to guides and videos are currently being created to be released to the public to assist with commonly asked parking questions.
The Senior Downtown Parking Permit Program will remain unchanged, according to the release.
Senior permits go on sale March 1 and can be purchased by those age 65 and older for $30. With the permit, seniors can park in any paid parking space downtown without additional payment for a full year.
The number of senior permits are limited so Paso Robles residents are encouraged to apply early in person at the Paso Robles Police Department, Paso Robles Senior Center or Paso Robles City Library, or online at prcity.com/parking.
