Drivers headed from the Central Coast toward Fresno can expect delays on Highway 41 in eastern San Luis Obispo County as Caltrans performs roadwork over the next two weeks.

Caltrans’ Shandon and Templeton North maintenance teams will repair potholes and pave a 7-mile stretch of highway from the Cholame “Y” interchange with Highway 46 to the Kern County line, the release said.

The work, which began on Monday, “will result in one-way reversing traffic control over the next couple of weeks,” Caltrans said.

The one-way traffic control will run from through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the release said, with work resuming on Monday, Feb. 20, through Thursday, Feb. 23, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Flaggers on both ends of the lane closure will use a pilot car for travelers to follow, according to the release, which warned travelers to plan for delays up to 20 minutes during the closure.
