Organizers canceled the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market on Thursday due to wet weather in the forecast.

“Due to the forecasted rain during market hours, we’ve made the tough call to cancel this week’s market,” organizers wrote in a post Tuesday on the market’s Facebook page. “We look forward to seeing you in 2023!”

The popular farmers market is typically held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo, according to its Facebook page.

However, wet weather has led to its cancellation in the past.

The farmers market was last canceled in November due to rain.

“This is standard procedure for inclement weather,” Downtown SLO spokesperson Rachel Lackmann wrote in an email to The Tribune in November.

Light rain is predicted begin to fall Wednesday evening into Thursday morning, with showers intensifying on Friday into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

That storm may bring as 1 to 3 inches of rain across the county, the agency said.
