See trees sparkle, sculptures shine at SLO Botanical Garden’s Nature Nights event

Picture Paso Robles’ Sensorio Field of Lights combined with the Cambria Christmas Market, and you’ll get a glimpse of the sparkling garden party now on display at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden.
During the new Nature Nights event, which opened Nov. 11, eight acres of lighted garden displays are interspersed with beautiful artworks.
According to the garden, Nature Nights was inspired by the Las Noches de las Luminarias event at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
“Nature Nights fills a need in San Luis Obispo County for off-season family attractions,” the SLO Botanical Garden Garden said in a news release.
“Kodi Kava is the lighting designer and we have large projection-formatted art by Bryn Forbes and wire sculptures by MIchael Reddell of Cambria.,” said Tracy Strann, the garden’s director of communication and events. She’s the former executive director of Sensorio.
The event is billed as an “outdoor holiday light and art exhibit for the entire family.”

Hot food, sweets and beverages are available for purchase, and there’s a warm dining room if it’s chilly.
“Come to the garden, see all the beautiful lights and art,” Strann said. “We have fabulous food for the whole family by Paradise Kitchen.”
Nature Night takes place 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, through Jan. 8, 2023. It’s located at 3450 Dairy Creek Road in El Chorro Regional Park off Highway 1.
