Update: Nearly 1,500 PG&E customers in SLO County still without electricity

Update, 5:45 p.m.:

A power outage ended early for some San Luis Obispo County residents, while others remained without electricity late Thursday afternoon.

In Atascadero, 1,426 PG&E customers were without power by 5:45 p.m., according to the utility company.

Electricity should be restored to the rest of the city by about 7:15 p.m., PG&E said.

PG&E is investigating the cause of the outage, according to its website.

By 5:45 p.m., power had been restored to all 18 customers in the city of San Luis Obispo who lost electricity earlier in the day.

While San Luis Obispo County experienced a record-breaking heat wave, more than 6,000 PG&E customers in Atascadero were without electricity on Thursday afternoon.

In total, 6,298 PG&E customers lost power at about 1:20 p.m., according to the PG&E power outage map.

Power should be restored by 7:15 p.m., the utility company said.

PG&E is still investigating the cause of the outage, according to the company’s website.

In a separate power outage, 18 customers in the city of San Luis Obispo lost power at about 12:30 p.m.
