Plane slides off runway while landing at SLO County airport
Update, 4:10 p.m.:
A representative of SunWest Aviation has confirmed there were no injuries in the plane incident at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport on Thursday afternoon.
According to flight school manager Allie Settle, “everybody is A-OK,” following the Cessna sliding off the runway.
Settle said the incident was due to a complication upon landing and that the pilot manged to slide the aircraft to the left and gently steer it into the grass.
“He’s totally fine,” she said. “He’s at home safe, totally good and the plane is perfect. Not a scratch actually, not even a grass stain.”

According to the flight-tracking website flightaware.com, the plane had just returned from a 2-1/2-hour circle trip to Bakersfield when the rough landing happened at around 1:30 p.m.
The four-seat propeller plane is owned by Sunwest Aviation out of Santa Ynez, according to flightaware.com.
It’s unclear if anyone was injured, though ambulance response was canceled for the incident, according to emergency scanner traffic.
