Major injuries reported in SLO County crash between motorcycle and vehicle
A motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a collision with a vehicle Saturday evening in San Miguel.
The California Highway Patrol, other law enforcement agencies and emergency personnel responded to crash at 805 River Road at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the CHP.
The driver of a Honda Civic was making a left turn from Verde Place onto River Road when he had to stop for an oncoming car. In doing so, however, he ended up in the path of the motorcycle rider, who was coming from the opposite direction.
The right side of the motorcycle collided with the front of the Civic, ejecting the rider into the intersection.
The motorcyclist, Ethan Carroll, 23, of San Miguel, suffered major injuries in the crash and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.
The driver of the Honda, Micah Foster, 21, of San Miguel, was uninjured.
River Road was shut down at Verde Place until the roadway was cleared shortly after 6 p.m.
The CHP is investigating the crash but said drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
