71-year-old woman hit by car, injured while walking in Nipomo

A 71-year-old Nipomo woman was hit by a car and seriously injured while walking at Blacklake Golf Resort on Friday.

According to California Highway Patrol, Darian Lee Hansen, 70, of Nipomo, was driving on Black Lake Canyon Road around 2:32 p.m. when he turned onto Jones Lane.

The front of Hansen’s vehicle then struck Dorothy M. Desantis, 71, who had been walking down Jones Lane. The impact threw her to the ground, according to the CHP.

Desantis received major injuries as a result of the collision, including major head trauma and a broken arm, according to CHP. She was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center.

Hansen was not injured in the collision.
