Hundreds lose electricity in northern SLO County power outage

Hundreds of residents in northern San Luis Obispo County were without power Tuesday evening, according to PG&E.

Power went out for more than 1,600 residents between Atascadero and Lake Nacimiento around 5 p.m., according to PG&E’s outage map.

As of 6 p.m., that number was reduced to 906 customers. By midnight power had been restored to all customers.

A vegetation fire was reported on Shadow Canyon Road in Templeton around the same time; that incident has since been redesignated as an “electrical emergency,” according to emergency response app PulsePoint.
