A Cal Fire SLO firefighter is descending with the help of a rope system at Pirate’s Cove to access a stranded hiker.

Cal Fire SLO firefighters made a 100-foot descent down the side of the Pirate’s Cove cliffs to rescue a stranded hiker, according to Cal Fire SLO.
Cal Fire responded to reports of a stranded hiker about 6:45 p.m. Saturday and the rescue was complete by about 7:15 p.m.
Firefighters used a rope system to access the hiker, according to Cal Fire SLO. The hiker was brought up to the main trail and hiked out after being assessed for injuries.
