Surfer dies from head injury in Pismo Beach

A surfer died in Pismo Beach Friday morning after suffering a head injury, according to authorities.

Cal Fire says the agency received a call at 10 a.m. for the Pismo Beach Police Department pulling an unconscious surfer out of the water.

When they arrived on scene, Cal Fire personnel found a single male patient with a head injury. They attempted CPR, but the person did not survive, according to Cal Fire.

The person was surfing in the area, according to Cal Fire.

His name and age are not yet being released.
