Cal Poly student dies in fatal car crash

A Cal Poly student died Saturday in a fatal car crash, the university announced in a campus-wide email.

Angel De Los Santos was a junior nutrition major from Ukiah, California, according to her Facebook account.

According to the university, she was a member of the women’s club rugby and basketball teams at Cal Poly.

The Cal Poly’s Women’s Basketball Club posted Sunday about the loss of its teammate.

“Angel was one of the most positive, hardworking, fun people we had the pleasure of having on this team,” the basketball team’s Instagram post read.

The Women’s Club Rugby team also posted its condolences.

“We will remember Angel for her incredible work ethic, contagious smile, and beautiful soul,” the rugby team Instagram post read.

Cal Poly said it has no further details of the crash at this time. No details about memorial serviced have been posted to the Cal Poly memorium website.
