Highway 41 crash near Morro Bay injures driver

California Highway Patrol and the Morro Bay Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 41 that left one person injured Wednesday morning.

The crash took place around 7:40 a.m. just east of Bear Ridge Road between Atascadero and Morro Bay, according to CHP logs. Both lanes were blocked initially, but were cleared around 8:20 a.m., according to CHP logs.

Only one person was involved in the accident and was able to extricate themselves from the vehicle, according to Cal Fire, who also responded to the incident.

Cal Fire officials saidthe person was transported by San Luis Obispo Ambulance to a local hospital for their injuries.

According to CHP, the crash is still under investigation.

No further details have been released at this time.
