SLO police release name of man found dead in Prefumo Creek

San Luis Obispo police on Tuesday released the name of the man whose body was found over the weekend in Prefumo Creek.

Norman Bispo, 60, was found half-naked and unresponsive on Sunday in the creek area behind the 1200 block of Vista Lago, according to a San Luis Obispo Police Department news release.

Fire personnel determined Bispo was dead, and a police detective and a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s coroner investigator responded to further investigate.

Investigators couldn’t immediately determine Bispo’s cause of death. A Tuesday autopsy didn’t reveal how Bispo died, and he had no obvious signs of trauma.

Pending toxicology results will help determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in Bispo’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.
