Update, 3:13 p.m.: All lanes of westbound Highway 46 have been reopened, according to Caltrans’ Jim Shivers.

Update, 9:57 a.m.:

The number 1 lane has reopened, according to the CHP Traffic Incident page and the Caltrans District 5 Twitter.

Update, 9:41 a.m.:

According to the CHP Traffic Incident page, multiple people have been stopped on Highway 46 for an hour and half waiting for the roadway to reopen after a crash involving a car and a semi-trailer truck.

The CHP was not allowing vehicles to pass using the center divider and there is no estimate for when the lanes will open.

The westbound lanes of Highway 46 were closed near the Shandon rest area north of Paso Robles following a two-vehicle crash.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident page, the crash happened at about 6:15 a.m. and resulted in a car and semi-trailer truck overturning.

Two people were injured in the collision, Cal Fire said.

A Sigalert was issued for westbound Highway 46 at 6:57 a.m., according to the CHP.

Cal Fire estimated the lanes would reopen around 8:30 a.m., but as of 9 a.m., the lanes remained closed.
