SLO park slides closed for weeks due to vandalism — and the city is looking for culprits

Slides at Sinsheimer Park in San Luis Obispo will be closed for repairs for three to four weeks due to vandalism, according to city officials.

The city is asking for any information about suspicious activity in local parks.

“See something, say something!” the city said in a Facebook post that included a photo of a green plastic slide with burn marks.

The vandalism at the Sinsheimer Park playground on Southwood Drive comes in the wake of an October incident in which a piece of artificial turf was stolen. The turf cost about $10,000 to replace.

Anyone with knowledge of the damage is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 805-781-7312.
