The man killed by a car near Santa Margarita on Saturday morning has been identified by the CHP as Matthew Eugene Gunn.

Gunn, 47, was hit around 6 a.m. Saturday on West Pozo Road. Gunn was a transient out of Atascadero, according to CHP spokesman Pat Seebart.

Further details of the incident were not immediately available Monday afternoon.
