These are the best holiday window displays in downtown SLO

Downtown SLO announced the winners of its annual window decorating contest on Monday.

Every year, businesses are encouraged to participate in the contest to create a festive and welcoming holiday atmosphere in downtown San Luis Obispo and create visual interest in their business, according to a news release. This year, 26 businesses participated in the contest.

The winners are:

▪  1st Place: Bluebird Salon

▪  2nd Place: Eco Bambino

▪  3rd Place: SLOFLY

▪  Best In Theme (“Holiday Hoedown”): Jules D

▪  People’s Choice: Moon River Salon & Spa

Winners receive a certificate and a bag filled with gifts from local businesses.

Judges Brent Vanderhoof, Dominic Tartaglia, Austin Bertucci, Stan Carpenter, Stephen Patrick, Landy Fike and Eva Ulz compared the windows the evening of Nov. 28.

Windows were judged on creativity, lighting and adherence to the association’s “Holiday Hoedown” theme.

More than 400 votes were cast in the online People’s Choice survey, a record for public participation in the annual competition.
