Looking to rent an apartment in San Luis Obispo or find out who the owner is?

The city of San Luis Obispo has created a new online portal called InfoSLO that allows the public to search for building inspections and permitting history.

The portal also allows the public to search for property ownership, zoning and parcel information.

The new tool is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to create safe housing programs to empower tenants with information about potential housing and encourage landowners to comply with ordinances.

As part of a discussion at a City Council meeting on Nov. 21, council members directed city staff to come back with a future schedule of increased fines for violations of building safety regulations, and to implement educational tools to let tenants know about their property rights.

The new information portal on permit, inspection and plan history and updates is available at info.slocity.org.
