Lompoc police locate missing 16-year-old girl
The Lompoc Police Department on Wednesday evening located a 16-year-old who had been missing since early Tuesday morning.
The Police Department announced on its mobile application that Krystal Jongsma was found in Vandenberg Village and is healthy.
“We would like to thank the public for their help and concern,” police said.
Volunteers and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department searched trails in the chaparral near Cabrillo High School late Tuesday night and early Wednesday in an effort to find Jongsma.
Lompoc police said the girl was last seen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday walking toward the library at Cabrillo High School. However, she did not attend any of her classes Tuesday and was reported later in the day as missing.
