San Luis Obispo County added 110 new coronavirus cases since Friday, according to data from the county Public Health Department.

In total, 30,240 San Luis Obispo County residents have tested positive for coronavirus since March 2020.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the county now stands at 280, compared to 321 cases on Friday.

The number of active cases in San Luis Obispo County over the past 31 days has varied from a high of 427 on Oct. 24 to a low of 239 on Nov. 16.

Here’s how local coronavirus case numbers from the past four days break down day-by-day:

  • Saturday: 46

  • Sunday: 27
  • Monday: 25
  • Tuesday: 12
  • The Public Health Department is not providing information about how many newly reported individual cases, hospitalizations and deaths involve vaccinated and unvaccinated people due to resource limitations and privacy concerns.

Instead, the agency is releasing weekly data showing the percentages of unvaccinated people who’ve contracted COVID-19, received hospital treatment for the virus or died from it since June 15.

As of Nov. 12, unvaccinated people have accounted for 77% of COVID-19 cases, 82% of hospitalizations and 72% of deaths since June 15, according to the Public Health Department.

As the Central Coast heads into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, county Public Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein urged people to get vaccinated against COVID-19, wear face masks indoors and avoid large gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus.
