SLO County adds 6 new coronavirus cases — the lowest daily case count in months

San Luis Obispo County added six new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, according to data from the county Public Health Department.

That’s the fewest number of new COVID-19 cases that the county has reported on a single day since before Thanksgiving.

San Luis Obispo County also posted low daily case numbers in January, but that was due to a reporting error that caused positive tests from three days to be collected into one.

This month, the county has reported a string of single-digit daily case counts — adding eight coronavirus cases on March 7, seven cases on March 8 and seven on March 14.

In total, 20,309 San Luis Obispo County residents have tested positive for coronavirus since March 2020.

On Wednesday, the county reported no additional deaths due to coronavirus. Locally, 253 people have died due to the virus.

San Luis Obispo County was in the red tier of coronavirus restrictions under California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy as of Wednesday.
