Another person has died due to coronavirus in San Luis Obispo County.

The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department confirmed a 16th person has died from COVID-19 on Monday.

According to a tweet Monday afternoon, the person was especially vulnerable to the virus because they were in their 60s and had chronic health conditions.

Information on where the person lived or how they contracted the virus was not immediately available Monday afternoon.

San Luis Obispo County had previously reported 16 coronavirus deaths, but on Aug. 6 officials announced they had reclassified one local death that was previously listed as coronavirus-related, bringing the then-tally down to 15 people.

That person in the reclassified case was already in their final stages of life before they contracted coronavirus, according to the county. They were a resident of Vineyard Hills Health Center, which is experiencing an outbreak of coronavirus cases.
