San Luis Obispo County is discouraging tourists from visiting, but leaders in beach cities are still preparing for Memorial Day crowds.
A spokesman for Pismo Beach said the city has increased police and public works staffing in anticipation of holiday weekend visitors.
“The city has deployed every trash can we have,” he said.

San Luis Obispo County Superior Court jury trials will resume on June 15 after a three-month suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak.
