Northern Santa Barbara County resident dies from coronavirus
Santa Barbara County experienced its first death from the coronavirus on Wednesday, Public Health officials announced at an afternoon news briefing.
The person who died was a North County resident in their 60s, according to Dr. Henning Ansorg, the county’s public health officer.
No further details about the patient were released.
Santa Barbara County had 111 confirmed cases as of Wednesday, according to the county health department. Of those cases, 17 are in the hospital, with 13 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit.
San Luis Obispo County had 83 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with no deaths. Ten patients are hospitalized, including two in the ICU.
